Claim: 🚨TTP Commander’s Open Presence in Pakistan, Afghan Bombings, and Unanswered Questions for the Security Establishment🚨 TTP chief Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud has released recent videos and images in which he is openly moving around in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, specifically in the districts of Kurram and Karak. These visuals provide clear evidence that the TTP leadership is not only present inside Pakistan but is operating with apparent freedom of movement. For years, the Pakistani security establishment has insisted that TTP’s leadership is sheltered in Afghanistan and is directing terrorism against Pakistan from there. On this basis, repeated airstrikes have been carried out inside Afghanistan — strikes that have hit ordinary civilians, women, children, and even a drug addicts’ rehabilitation centre in Kabul. Thousands of innocent Afghan civilians have paid the price. The hard questions that now demand answers are: If Noor Wali Mehsud and his leadership were already inside Pakistan, then why was Afghanistan bombed so extensively? Why were innocent children, women, and patients in a rehabilitation centre targeted? Was this done simply to shift blame for Pakistan’s own security failures onto a neighbouring country? If he was truly in Afghanistan, then why — despite so many airstrikes, drone operations, and “intelligence-based operations” — was he never hit? Pakistan’s security forces repeatedly claimed they were striking the right targets. Yet the TTP chief remained safe and is now filming videos from within Pakistan itself. It is also highly implausible that he has only just crossed over. All routes from Afghanistan are closed. The border is fenced, the army is deployed, cameras are installed, and drones conduct surveillance. So how does a high-value wanted terrorist, along with dozens of his companions, simply walk across the border? If the border is truly secure, how do militants keep crossing? And if it is not secure, what justification remains for repeatedly blaming Afghanistan? The Pakistani security establishment must answer this directly: Why are you shifting the burden of your own failures onto Afghanistan while killing innocent Afghan civilians, when the TTP leadership is evidently operating inside your own territory? Is this not a deliberate policy of making Afghanistan the scapegoat? Is it easier to bomb a neighbour than to confront internal security failures, intelligence shortcomings, and local support networks that allow militants to operate freely? If the leadership is inside Pakistan, why are the operations not being conducted there? If operations inside Pakistan keep failing, what moral or legal justification remains for bombing Afghan children and women? Where was the “world’s number one army” and “number one intelligence” when the TTP chief was freely moving and recording videos in Kurram and Karak? These are no longer just Afghan questions. They are questions every Pakistani citizen whose security is supposedly being protected by these actions has the right to ask. Bombing a neighbour will neither eliminate the TTP nor make Pakistan secure. The real solution lies in acknowledging internal weaknesses and addressing them — not in repeatedly sacrificing Afghan civilians to cover up domestic failures.
